Am I Black Enough For You

Am I black enough for you is a series of portraits that question society's preconceived notion of what it means to be "Black." There are social, political and cultural stigmas created to define blackness within a tailored box. These stigmas have created mental limits for not only how we perceive others but also ourselves. The subjects sit behind tinted glass portrayed in complete darkness except for the main highlights of the human gaze, thus allowing the viewer to enter a personal relationship with the person being looked at.
